B Braun Outlook 400ES
The B Braun Outlook 400ES infusion system is a pretty unique and extendable pump platform that you can upgrade with extra features as your facility’s needs grow. It’s used to control the flow of both primary and secondary fluids when positive pressure is needed. One cool thing about this pump is that it lets you manually set the occlusion limits between 75 and 500 mmHg, and if you’re doing epidural infusions, you can extend that up to 750 mmHg. It also comes with a bunch of audible and visual alarms to warn you about things like KVO (keep vein open), low battery, and other issues.
Some neat features include:
- Negative Head Height Delivery: Capable of delivering fluid even when there’s a negative head height.
- User-Selectable Occlusion Limits: You can choose settings between 75-500 mmHg, and even go up to 750 mmHg for epidural uses.
- Non-Numeric Keypad: Designed to help cut down on programming errors with zeros and decimals.
- Real-Time Display: Shows dose and limit values during infusions so you always know what’s going on.
- Daisy Chaining: Allows up to 5 pumps to be linked together, with only one plug needed for power.
- Internal Rechargeable Battery: Automatically kicks in to keep the pump running in case of a power loss.
